Stain finish?
Stain finish?
Can anyone recommend a type/brand of stain.....paint and stain are not my specialty!

There are better stains than Minwax, but for availability and ease of use Minwax is pretty hard to beat. I personally have always preferred Varathane Flecto, but it's gotten hard to find.
The disadvantage to the poly/finish combos is controllability. Much harder to get the depth of color you want. They're pretty much WYSIWYG. But if you have wood that will stain evenly it's fast and looks good.
