Paint roller is a good idea, the fur would help knock out the surrounding tweets.

I use a paper towel roll sometimes, but never a toilet tissue roll, everyone knows they suck tone.

I'm also a big fan of the Christmas wrap roll if there's enough room.

I tried an aluminum foil roll once but it sounded...tinny.

I tried a wax paper roll once. It worked pretty slick...

Do you all solder straight to the lugs instead of using the little connects? If so, would a 15w iron and 60/40 rosin suffice?

A 15w iron is too small. It takes so long to heat the joint that it damages piezos. I use a 50 watter.
