two omnitop 12's with 2 titan 48
two omnitop 12's with 2 titan 48
Finally got a gig appropriate for this rig. One omnitop 12 on each side with 2 titan 48 (24.5" with 3015). One omnitop on each side of a PLX 1602 and one titan on each side of a PLX 3402. Venue was a church meeting hall, 50' wide and 75' long, fire marshal rated for 190 people. For some crazy reason the stage is along the long wall, so it's only about 30' from the front of the stage to where I was mixing. I had the titans on the floor in front of the stage, mouths together, with monitors on top of them. Band was light to medium rock, elec. guitar, bass guitar, drums, keys, acoustic guitar, 2 vocals. I was running 110db C-weighted, 105db A weighted on the louder songs measured 30' from the speakers. My previous gig I had used 2 omnitops on each side with a pair of double 18's on one side. I fired it up with the same settings on my DR260. I had to cut the subs back just a bit. Mind you this was 2 omnitops vs. 4 for the previous gig. I was impressed with the performance of the titans. I think I finally got them enough power with the PLX 3402. Even so, with all that and 4 monitor mixes out of 2 PLX 2402's on one circuit, and there was hardly a bobble on my sensitive volt meter. I didn't do any RTA, I just fired it up and liked the way it sounded, except for having to back the subs off a bit. So this was entirely judging by sound, and it sounded good. My help to load out got in for the last 3 songs, of course heard it when he entered the hall leading to the room where we were, and he wants some omnitops for his church.
