Your wife recognizes a router, roto-zip and jigsaw in a pile of miscellaneous tools, or even knows exactly what they are? I'm not too worried about the "just ONE vacuum" argument.
She knows what they are (and unfortunately how much they cost) because catalogs are my preferred reading material during my "morning constitution" and I usually leave them open on the sink or edge of the tub. It helps to answer questions from her like "What do you want for Christmas?" She knows what to ask for. She's pretty good about things like that. I only had to tell her once "No Honey. It's a ROW-ter, not a ROO-ter." Otherwise, I probably would have another plumbing snake...
It would be much cheaper for me to order that saw, pay for shipping and buy a 240 > 110v converter (a DeWalt charger alone is £50 here in the UK) than to buy the UK equivalent.
The odd thing is that the DC390 (DC390KB) I see over here has the blade on the other side of the motor - seems odd to have a completely different model with almost the same model number - or maybe I'm missing something about DeWalt numbering systems.

It has nothing to do with warranty at all.
It has everything to do with lining the pockets of the greasers who pay homage to Mr Big ( in this case De Walt ) - the old school tie and all that blarney!

Just my opinion, but I think Lithium-Ion battery power is the way to go now for cordless tools. I've been holding off buying any cordless tools for a few years now. Just picked up a Lithium-Ion Ryobi combo set on sale from Home Depot. Lithium-Ion batteries can be smaller and lighter, and hold a charge much longer than other types of batteries.
This will be an interesting exercise. When I clicked on the shipping cost estimates for NZ, it said "Shipping costs are not available for your country, please contact the seller"
I did that and so we will wait and see.

Now to check local prices.
Well, interesting. The NZ supplied price from the local dealer includes GST. IN my business I claim this back and can write the value of the tool of as an expense, so the price of 199 becomes $NZ 176.88
Whichever way, as you can see we end up paying one heck of a lot more for tools here.

I also checked the price for the dewalt (DC390KB not DC390B, don't know what the difference is) at screwfix, it comes in at a hefty £359 or 936NZD or 713USD.
Including shipping and tax, it would still be less than half price.
I echo the sentiments about LI-Ion batteries, Ryobi do sell them at some what of a premium. I have so many standard batteries it isn't much of a problem.
You guys on the continent and probably you too Harley should be shopping Bosch. I'm sure it's available everywhere. I find them a better tool than the Dewalts. Out of probably over 100 power tools in my rental inventory, 3 are not Bosch.
Leland, are your Bosch tools green (consumer line) or blue (pro line)? There is a distinct price difference, the blue tools are supposedly better quality. I'm not sure how much better the blue ones are though.
