Yes, this is good to do when already clamped up.
If nailing before clamping though, best to nail straight, less possible side shifting as the nails act like guide pins. Also clamps don't have to overcome the angled nails.

There is no technical problem however complex, that cannot be solved or finessed by a direct application of brute strength and ignorance.

Thanks. Actually a combination of the two is best. Shoot a few straight nails, clamp up, then do as Harley suggests.

My dad was a cabinet maker. If he saw me nailing all nails perpendicular it was a cuff on the lug-hole for me. :shock:
