Plywood at Lowes

I've built a cab from what's called Arauco plywood. 1/2", 5 ply. It works well, is void-free and best of all takes a Duratex finish as well as Birch but costs at least 1/3 less. It also weighs less than Birch. Two thumbs up.
This is the only plywood I've found at Lowe's that's any good.

Does anybody know the item # or UPC label that is associated with this 1/2"plywood? The guys at Lowes said they couldn't do this for me

What ever happened to the LAUAN 1/2"?
I can find 1/4" but no 1/2". I'm currently using 1/2"Russian Birch at $42 for a 5X5 sheet.
I want to build all of the BFM cabinets so I'm looking for ways to save a $.

Good luck, they don't carry it here either. I've just been getting A/B or B/C 5 ply from the lumber yard @ $25/sheet. It's fairly light and strong enough for the designs.

Only one of the three Lowes near my house has the stuff in 1/2".

My local Lowe's has it, but it's labeled as 15/32" Arauco. Sorry, I don't have any at home right now, so I don't know the code for it.

Doesn't anyone have a sheet of 1/2"(15/32") Arauco or Lauan plywood from Lowes? I just need the #'s off of it!
The guys at Lowes/Menards say they can't look up a product they don't stock but if I got the #'s they would be glad to order some for me! Thanks , Jeff...

I'll see if I can swing by there tonight. I need some weather stripping for my front door, so I'll check out the number on the Arauco while I'm there.

Lowe's part # is 170770. This is for 1/2 inch (15/32).

Local price is $24.77 (just west of St. Louis, MO)

Well, the number is good. I just searched every store in a 25 mile radius.

"Not sold" anywhere around here.

crawbeaird, let us know when they give you a price. My experience with them and HD is that any special order also carries a 'special' price.

I see someone beat me to it. I just swung by Lowe's and that's the same item # I got. It's $23 and change for a 4x8 here in northeast Tennessee. Like Tim, I'd be curious to know what the price ends up being for a special order.

I just got back from Lowes... If they can stock the Arauco plywood, hopefully, the price will be $24 if not it'll be $37 a sheet and I have to buy a full bunk!(78 pieces)

Ya, ALL the cabinets, a dog house, a new shed...etc.
