Duratex coverage
Duratex coverage
Would 1 gallon of Duratex cover 2 DR280s and 2 Titan 48s? Sprayed on with a hopper gun ala the Harbor Freight one?

I used a gallon on my 2xT48's and most of a second on 4x wedgehorns and 4xOT12's. I didn't do heavy texturing though I rolled 3 moderate coats on everything. I'm planning on going back with a loop texture roller and recoating everything in the near future which will use at least what's left and probably start into my third gallon for all that surface area.

Would be pretty close. Don't get too thick and it probably will.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

I do two texture coats...and more anywhere that seems to need it, or where I figure it'll get manhandled. I've done three cabs (O10, T39, DR250) with two gallons and have about a quart left. Everyone else seems to get better mileage...but those folks who use grills save a lot by not doing the innards.David Carter wrote:So it sounds like one gallon would be enough for 2 DR250's with some texturing, right?

Do you do texture on the innards or just a flat coat?fender3x wrote:...but those folks who use grills save a lot by not doing the innards.
Dave

- 2 x Titan 39 (3012LF - 20"W)
- 4 x DR200 (Delta Pro 8B + melded array)

I texture on the innards too...at least all the parts you can see. I use a 2" roller everywhere it's practical, and dab with an open-cell sponge everywhere else. It seems to work OK, but it takes a while, and often multiple dabbings to make it look good. This is usually the point where I begin to envy the guys with sprayersDavid Carter wrote:Do you do texture on the innards or just a flat coat?fender3x wrote:...but those folks who use grills save a lot by not doing the innards.

The chain store truck bed liner is available in gallon cans and quart cans, and has the benifit of being available in rattle cans, too. I used the rattle cans for the inside corners, and then rolled as close as I could to them. There is also a kit available that has a gallon can, 1 can of spray, and a roller and plastic pan. The nice thing is you dont have to order it, so you can get it quickly if you run out.
Roughly what does it cost?chopperguy99 wrote:The chain store truck bed liner is available in gallon cans and quart cans, and has the benifit of being available in rattle cans, too. If thats the stuff at WallyWorld, I used it, and it does ok... but it does have a wicked odor while its drying.
There is no technical problem however complex, that cannot be solved or finessed by a direct application of brute strength and ignorance.
