US source for speaker grill foam?

#1 Post by JazzyRick »

Where can I get some thin foam to backup grilles on a pair of DR 280s? AC filter foam? special speaker foam? You do a search for Air Conditioner foam and you get small pieces like 24x18"s and such.

Hehehe I followed that link to Grainger to look at their cabinet hardware. I found these sweet corners, but then I noticed the price. Not in this lifetime!

My favorite toy store is McMaster Carr Try www.mcmaster.com They have everything, and foam too
There is no technical problem however complex, that cannot be solved or finessed by a direct application of brute strength and ignorance.

Both McMaster Carr and Grainger have lots of stuff you don't normally see in hardware stores etc.

McMaster usually always has hard to find plastics and specialty metals etc. They never list the Manufacturer however!

Grainger is good for Meters and motors etc. but their pricing is usually high. Since I work for a large corporation who has a nice discount at Grainger I don't hesitate to buy there. Tax free and 15% of all pricing which is not bad. 45 days net for payment as well.

Another good source is MSC. Manhatten supply Corp. Very good for machining supplies. Drills, Mills, Cutters, Taps, Saw Blades, Nuts & Bolts etc.

McMaster is a great source for casters BTW!

US Foam Grill Source

My post a little earlier on has this link. Scroll to the bottom of the page once you get there. About $37 total for 4 grills for my DR280. Several different thicknesses. They also carry a bunch of cool foam bass trap corners and treatments for your home studio. I've had great luck with these guys. Over $50, free shipping, too.
