I know it's disappointing to wait, but you're probably making the right call! I'd hate for you to cut the hole and find out it's too big.Marflinger wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2026 9:53 pm Well, both will just refer to the drawing and not unpack and measure a piece. I think the drawing is true and accurate, just not sure how cone movement effects the surrounding (thank you for the assist on the word) and i want to avoid having contact areas here...
I think i will wait for now, i hope it is not too long...
I'll prepare the first baffle with the 281mm cutouts and increase that when needed. But to be sure i need to mount the drivers and give them some voltage to move everything i fear.

Well yeah, too big or too small would both be a total failure, as there is no way to really reach there to fix it (and in case of too big no fix at all...).
Got in contact with the supplier, the first package is on its way already and should be here the next few days. so the waiting time is not that long, i think i will get through this :)
The Wheelboard-idea: i'll stick with that, and thought about a frame to keep the T30 in place, that also functions as a ground support for the DR250s maybe...will try around a bit and present the final idea.
Still not sure about the flanges inside the access cover. But i still do not see a problem with placing it there now; I'll do the first, and think about it again before i glue it down there. Maybe my mind discovers the error when i have it in front of me.

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
The first batch arrived :)
The surrounding needs no clearance, 283mm cutout diameter is fine.
I just stumbled on the placing, when i put it as in the plans they are pretty close in the center. Is this intentional/needed?
placed with a bit more distance (30" wide cab) would make better spacing in the middle? Surrounding pushed out Pushed in
Both ways do not cross the frame border :)

I can't imagine it would hurt anything to space the drivers further apart, but maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

I went on the first with the spacing from the plans, when finishing the cab i'll see if i'd even benefit from more distance; probably fine the way it is.
The flanges to carry the access cover later, this would be the idea in one piece (a cutoff from the precut just fits)
Any errors when done in one part?
Any errors when done now? Cutout fits well i'd say.
The surrounding has no contact, no matter how i move the cone.

One piece access cover would be cool, it's usually done in multiple pieces because the chances of getting a cab perfectly square are usually beyond your first-time builder I'd imagine?

It's recommended to use multiple pieces as doing it in one piece wastes a lot of wood.

I thought about reusing the inner part for the bracing, i'll measire around a bit to see what i can get there.
I like the idea of a fixed point to attach the first panels to.
Tomorrow i can do the first further, on this i'll do the flanges as in the plans.
Maybe the rest with a onepiece-solution.
Also in pieces i could add them with the panels, straightens everything and gives me a fixed point.
No luck today on the timing, but tomorrow there will be progress finally :)

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Ok these are very easy to build compared to the dr250 :D
I guess i could do 2 per day probably, when the whole day would be available for building cabs :D
The first now on the finishline after i spent a few hours today, rest has to happen on the next few days...
Just for the eyes: All bracing done twice, feels quite sturdy. Screws just for my sceptical inner demon.
Some warping had to be fixed, but not that bad at all. When the cuts are squared, it comes together like a charm. Very smooth process.

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
And again life beats inbetween, a lot of other stuff to do today and i fear no cab time. We'll see.
But on thought came to my mind: the corner panel between the finished 7 and 8 (which is 9) has very steep angles cut. Is that angle crucial to be that steep?
It would be way simpler to have it at 45 degree...
i know about the extra sled to cut above 45 degree, just looking for a way to avoid that...

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
The angle between panel 7 and 8 is less than 90 degrees, which means that a 45degree angle will not allow proper fit and contact. Sorry.

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
i mistook that, the last panel has a 50° cut; the rest is well below 45 so without extra steps to cut.
Including panel 9, all good. I think i will do something for the one 50° cut with my circular saw, to avoid the extra sled. I will think about that, maybe clamp a piece to the bottom to extend the last 5°. For now i will do the remaining panels until there. Today should be enough time :)

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Soo, i found at least a bit of time, so far last panel glued, just the side missing :)
The result :)
Did the small panels for the corners for all cabs, to have the steep angles all done. Went with the sled, who knows when i will need that again.
Front bracing just dry to clamp the bottom in the right direction. Will glue them the next time.(they are spread even, fisheye distortion) The cable for now in the bottom corner, will do my weirdo in/out. Maybe on the next cabs right from the beginning, now i wanted to close it as in the plan and cut from there.
The cable in the chamber, will hot glue that
The ruler for the bracing, worth every second.
The back before closing
Cable before closing, will fix it to the bracing and later it will be covered in paint when spraying the inside.
So far so lucky, just timing problem.
But the next part will be the connection box, the bracing and then closing the side :)
