24" & 35" THTLP in same room?

#1 Post by nightvision »

How would two different cab sizes behave in the same listing area? Both contain the same Ultimax 15 inch driver.

In my living room, I currently have a 24-in wide end-firing THTLP, which I built several years ago. I love the way it sounds, however I have noticed that there are areas in the room with reduced base, as expected.

Last summer I built a 35 inch THTLP side-firing version and placed it in my garage.

I'm wondering how it would be, if they were both placed in the living room? I know that it's not a good idea to place mis-matched subwoofers in the same listening area. However, they both are the same design and contain the same driver. One's just wider. Any thoughts or anyone try this before?

They have response close enough that it wouldn't be an issue.
