Hf horn in place, a bit messy with the glue but i'll scrape that off later.

One question to the hf mounts:
When rotated (right) there is no space left for the screwheads.
When straight (left) only two can be screwed.

I could drill the horn away a bit for the screwhead, but will it work when just 2 screws holt the cd in place?
The cd is the lavoce, gasket tape is directly around the 1 inch exit.
Which way to go?

The HF mount question derives from the point that the other options are just with two screwholes, as the asd1001 for example:

Sure the plan says it is sufficient with two screws; but is this valid for the CD with four screws as well?
Don't want to have anything rattle or come loose..the weight and dimensions seem to be very close to each other (0,9 kg each), so i assume the 2 point mounting should be okay?
Would it be worth it to replace the gasket ring with a full covering of the area? Or just put it on there as is?

I think your intuition on this is going to be better than anything we can offer, being as you have it in front of you. Seems the only two reasonable options are to either use two bolts to secure the driver or put the adapter on at 45° and create bolthead clearance by carving away a bit of the sheath. You got this. I'll be curious to see what you choose to do. For what it's worth, you can lift a car engine with two bolts of that size, it should be sufficient to hold the driver in place and create a sufficient seal. If the adapter were a less robust plastic, I might suggest four bolts to minimize adapter warping causing a leak. But, it should be plenty okay into half inch ply at that distance between fasteners.

My NSD2005 CDs are attached with two bolts. Never a problem. I would use lock washers, though.

Good idea with the washer; not sure if i find a matching screw, but i will look for it.

Intuition yeah, not sure about that in this case, as i have no experience on what matters or what fails first. Done (crappy) subwoofers before, thats it.
But then i think i will go for 2 screws, as the plate is not wobbly plastic (which would be a pretty good reason for four screws) it will work i think.

Maybe the weekend lets me get stuff done further, components for xo arrived as well.
Thought about the handles, will update to this as soon as i can show my thoughts on pictures.

i didn't come to get further on the DRs; but i got the last parts for the power supply, now the rack has fixed wifi and 3 phases to an 32A connector, including a meter for phase balancing :) the little box is packed as full as it can be now :D Sort of violent fitting it all in there

Tomorrow i will have time for going on with the DRs :)

Rushed a bit, but i like it :) just put the hf module in place for the picture :)

Did the hf mounts with only two screws straight, this will be super good enough. Testet the pressing, super firm and sealed for sure.

Did my handle/connector and the wires needed, the end looked like this:

Reinforced the handle bar with a half round piece inside, grabs fine.

When all is set and dry i'll cut off the excess, round all borders and clean/sand everything. But now the result gets visible. Soon it will be hearable :)

A thought that came to me as well yeah, sure it will.

I think i'll do a set of tubas before the next two DRs, as sort of a cooldown/therapy-build :D

But i learned a lot, the next dr build will be way simpler. I think i'll do a list of conclusions i took from the first pair.

short note about my thoughts to the handles:

i think i will not do the sidehandles as intended, rather the backcorners in the same height as the backhandle. The front can be just grabbed inside the throat, moving them around in its actual form worked well like that. Also, i could add the sidehandles later when i notice i miss them.

To the stacking/fixing part: i thought about little wooden clamps, that go to the front corners, to attach two cabs on top of each other. They could be fixed in the sides with T-nuts/screws. Just little pieces with slits for the side walls and the top/bottom that touch. First i would assume i will do them to be angled together, so pressed to each other front and back. Could do clamps for every angle i need, and in the back i could strap them together from the centered handle (and strap them down from the same handle OR the side handles in the corner). Would be way smaller than the full side brackets. The bottom needs to stand angled then, but i got an idea for that combined with the v-plate.

Got the option to steal a little piece of the day gladly :)
Cut everything flush to a sandable distance, filled the holes from my clamping-screws everywhere, removed the glue where it is not needed and so on.
And i did the handles in the backcorners :)

Thought about an inlay behind the sidehandle, to have it somehow more closed...but i think not needed at all? Could be bent as well, but for what?
Will glue a rounded profile in the corner inside, but even without it grabs just fine. Inlay as the scrap visible here:

When dry, i will close the cheeks (and will have thought of the handling of the handle) and the the rounding and sanding can begin.

Next the hf-module can be sprayed, the inside of the LF-Horn as well...the colouring can begin (soon...)
The throat filler still needed, and the XO has to be set up as well. wanted all the interieur when there is no more dust flying around. we are coming closer to that point :)

When I was considering building DR's, my plan was to put handles at the top and bottom of the back, in the butt crack... per-se. I can't see anything wrong with your choice. It's just what made sense in my mind. It's looking good. Nice job.
