TLAH + THTLP

#1 Post by shane2943 »

Sometimes I can't believe this sound system is real and mine! So clear, accurate, and the POWER is unreal. My wife is getting tired of fixing crooked pictures on the walls upstairs shaken by the THTLP monster.

I took a recording of the system in stereo (no SLA center) to illustrate the clarity of the mids and highs and the depth of the base. I used a couple of Shure mics because I wanted something better than a cellphone video.

So here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HG5gzJiydM (the video track is from my cell phone but the audio is from the Shures)

I have the bass up a bit hot which is where I like it. Definitely wear headphones or play it on your own BFM system that can handle 35Hz and lower.

Let me know if y'all want more of these with different tracks or even movie scenes.

OMG, I completely missed this post! My apologies. I will give this a listen soon and will hopefully not need to steam clean the couch afterward.

There's music in there from pretty much all the popular genre's. I listen to pretty much anything depending on my mood, except I cant really relate well with gangster rap laden with heavy slang. One of my favorites on the list, mostly due to the bass and how well the augmentation was integrated into the original mix is Too short - The ghetto. For country, Alan Jackson - Midnight In Montgomery is mixed pretty well too, also a 27hz bottom fundamental. Aerosmith - Dream On has a 22hz bottom fundamental that's pretty satisfying too. An 80's classic New Order - Blue Monday is a fun listen, not super low (32Hz), but it's a well mixed energetic listen.

I find a lot of the "re-bassed" music is poorly done. Either just bass boosted which sounds crappy, slowed the track which also sounds off, or boosted and slowed. This particular YT channel seems to do a pretty good job at actually adding lower fundamental sinewave of the notes contained in the original track without it being too hot or not hot enough in the mix. She (yes, she) doesn't nail it every time, but does pretty well on the whole. She's not the only one doing it or doing it well, but she does seem to have the most diverse catalog of content, genre wise.
