FIN!
Also tested them in my garage. O. M. G. The amount of output on such a tiny amount of power blew me away! And CLEAN. No chuffing, warbling, popping, or anytime other than effortless bass. I'm impressed for sure! Everything in the garage was seriously rattling on just 3 volts. THREE. Insanity!
I tested for leaks and found none. I did have to file down the driver access cover braces as they were hitting the driver surrounds a little but that was no big deal.
Anyway, on to the pitchers!
2 25" Lab 12 loaded T39s for a ballroom
Re: 2 25" Lab 12 loaded T39s for a ballroom
INSTALLED!
Got them initially dialed in. Will probably need tweaking over time. They're crossed at 100Hz using a 12dB rolloff which seems to work well with the towers.
Impressions: HOLY #*$&*@& ^@*#!!! I knew that these were going to produce more sound than the single 18" direct radiator that they're replacing (you can see the old sub in one of the images tucked behind the piano), but I was not prepared for just how much. Nor was I prepared for the fullness and depth of sound that comes from these. They are low, clean, clear, and full. The venue now gets to hear notes in the music that it's never been exposed to before. The music seems more "complete" and closer to how I'm sure it was intended to be heard. I am super impressed! This Bill guy knows what he's doing.
Last night was the major debut and I got a few compliments on the sound. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and conversations I felt could be had more easily, especially in the absence of the "wub wub wub" from the direct radiating sub.
Thank you to all for your help and advice, and thank you to Bill for the awesome design!!

Woohoo! Glad to hear it. Heh, I guess you now know why we said you wouldn't need much amplifier power.

Further review from these being installed for a couple months now.
I cannot understate just how good this whole system sounds, especially the T39s. Having been to a couple other ballrooms in the KC area, the sound there does not compare at all to this ballroom. The T39s continue to be clear and balanced no matter the genre of music. The bass is present without dominating yet one can feel the power as soon as they walk in the door. Conversations can still be had much more easily than before.
Several of my fellow dancers have cursed me for this system because they "now know what good sounds like and they can hear the difference at the other ballrooms!" Lol
Thanks again to Bill and everyone for helping make this a reality for our dance community!

What a great follow up, Shane.
I'm happy to hear your goal has been achieved and your efforts are appreciated.
Much of the way a system sounds is in the setup and tune. My hat's off to you for a job well done.
