Hi Everyone!
I'm working towards building the Short Line Arrays for my LCR home theater speakers and I have a couple of questions.
(LR SLA's will be the 6 bass/9 tweeter versions; the center channel SLA will be the 6 bass/ 6 tweeter version.)
1) When positioning the speakers for the left and right channels, should the tweeters be towards the inside of the main listening position or to the outside of the main listening position? Or does it not matter?
I saw in the picture of the TLAH that the tweeters are towards the inside of the listening position. I wasn't sure if this is gospel or preference or other.
2) When mounting the LR SLA speakers, should I toe them in to the listing position or is this generally unnecessary?
Speaker positioning notes: LR Speakers will be centered about 50 in from the center line, the listening position is 10.5 ft away from on center of the speaker wall. If I'm doing my math correctly I get about 22 degrees toe in if I were to aim the center of each LR Speaker at the listening position with a listening distance of ~11.3ft. The left speaker will be in the middle of a long wall while the right speaker will be about 15 inches from the corner. The goal will be to mount the speakers at about 34" above the floor as measured from the center tweeter. The center channel may need to be higher as it will be integrated into the fireplace mantel. (No actual fires in the fireplace at this point!)
3) Can I change the depth of the cabinet by making up the volume in a different dimension while maintaining the drivers' relationship to each other on the face of the speaker?
I know the standard answer is "Follow the plans, moron!" I'm just hoping to understand why and how the cabinet dimensions matter for this type of driver arrangement.
Thank you in advance to any one who has answers to any of these questions.

1. It doesn't matter
2. Yes. But they should be mounted much higher and tilted down.
