Hello,
I play double bass in a blues duet: singer/folk guitar and so myself on acoustic double bass.
We play on around 50 people pubs and around 100 people outside places.
First suggestion, thanks Seth, was a pair of SLA Pro with a pair of Titan 39 or possibly a jack to avoid the need of a sub.
I will go for the SLA Pro, witch seems easy to build, but Titan 39 are too big for my car half feeded with the double bass itself.
Can a pair of tuba 24 make the job with a decent projection?

Let's dig a little deeper into what you are doing......do you use a bass amp onstage? Or, is everything going to go through the PA?
If you are only running bass through the PA, then you will need a sub or run Omni 12 Tall boy as a one cab solution for the everything. It really depends on how loud you are trying to get. I would think a duo wouldn't need to be all that loud.
While Jacks are an option, once you put 'em up in the air, the bottom end is gone.
You could build a single SLA over a single T24 or T39. Put it between the two of you and not even need a monitor. That's how I do my acoustic duo gigs on outdoor patios (I just use a single SLA Pro). Start with one of each, then add another SLA if you need to in the future.

Re: blues duet
Despite its name the double bass doesn't go all that low, so it doesn't need a lot to handle it, plus you have its acoustic output. I'd go with a pair of Jack 10.
Re: blues duet
The limit of power i have on stage is directly linked to the feedback of the double bass body, so limited.
I also often cut bass frequency from 80hz for the same reasons.
I cannot push my amp enough for the audience, so yes the PA have to handle part of the double bass.
A driverack is on the game and can manage filtering, eq and separate signal for all enclosure as needed

Re: blues duet
Thinking about amping the SLA Pro and Jack 10 in the most affordable / best in quality / compact to travel, what do you think about:
Build each Jack 10 with an air head to log an QSC RMX 850 ( already have one)
SLA Pro in 8 ohms will have 200 watts
The Jack will have only a 10" driver, no piezzo, no filter.
Can i put a 4 ohms to level up the power it will have to 300watts? Better headroom and a little more power for outdoor purpose

Re: blues duet
I'm not sure what you're getting at. You would not use SLA Pro and Jack 10 together.
Re: blues duet
The first proposal you made me is a pair of SLA Pro and an associated pair of jack 10 to manage the low end without sub.
Qsc rmx 850 has two channels:
2x200w @ 8 ohms
2x300w @ 4 ohms
I propose to use it:
1 SLA Pro @ 8 ohms for channel 1 so 200w from the amp
1 Jack 10 @ 4 ohms for channel 2 so 300w from the amp
(If impedances can be mismatched on the amp of course)

Re: blues duet
Nope. Your either use a pair of SLA Pro with a sub or a pair of Jack 10 without a sub. You don't use SLA with Jacks, Jacks are not subs.
