I want to start by saying that before making this post, I have reached out to both Bill and Leland about the quality issues in the 8 Titan48 (3015LF loaded) cabinets I commissioned from him and have reached no resolution. This was a very high cost investment (over 10k) for a 24 year old trying to build a business.
A while back, I commisioned 8 t48 cabinets from Leland. Below I will list all of the flaws they came with:
-Not baltic birch. I asked for BB, but these are not
-All of the cabinets had some form of leak either internally or externally, including the speakon plates having no gaskets
-5 of the cabinets had air gaps and missed nails from mounting the final side panel
-2 of the cabinets have had a separation on the mounting baffle due to cheap glue, not enough glue, or both.
-There was a huge glob of hardened glue on one cab hiding underneath the driver, not allowing for a proper seal.
-Dents on the access panels from shipping
-Access panels are not the same size. (up to a 3/8th inch variance)
-Horizontal braces were crooked on two cabinets
I reached out to Leland about a potential resolution for this, and he has stopped responding to my emails. I reached out to Bill about this, and he says he's never had any problems in his time working with him.

What a bummer. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.
For what it's worth, one of the other guys here was chatting with Leland a couple months back about having stuff made and he (Leland) suddenly stopped responding before the purchase could be completed. He sent an invoice, but never responded after that to take payment. I'm not sure what your timeline is, if it matches, or is more recent than that, but I hope Leland is okay... not in the hospital 'n such. Just seems weird. Leland has had a good reputation around here for many many years.
However, on topic, I agree that those inconsistencies are not what I'd expect from a professional builder. I'd 100% expect them to be as identical and flawless as a store bought cab would be. I'm personally not sweating SpeakOn gaskets and nail misses (as long as they aren't in visible locations). Although, I generally snip or grind off any misses in my builds just because it seems/feels like the right thing to do when I'm trying to make something nice. Which, I think goes toward a display of pride in craftsmanship that these cabs seem to be lacking. Sounds like they were assembled by a young kid employee who couldn't give a shit about quality and just slammed them together.
Pics would certainly go well in this thread.

Pics are on my to do list for sure. I don't get much shop time and what little time I do have has been spent on fixing these issues rather than documenting, so I'll work on that. The nail misses aren't a big deal aside from them being indicative of the joints not sealing.Seth wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 10:29 pm What a bummer. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.

For what it's worth, I spoke to Leland the other day. His email forwarder isn't working right and he didn't get any of my emails either. I just messaged him about it. Hopefully, he'll get you fixed up.

Re: Low quality cabinets from authorized builder
My damn email forwarder. Bill notified me about issues. I sent emails out after hearing from him, never heard back. The cabs are baltic birch. I source it directly from an importer. The other problems though have nothing to do with the birch. Try lgcbuilder@gmail.com. I'm going right now and killing the forwarder on my domain. I have stopped building cabs. Only doing flat packs. I can't sustain the kind of work load I used to. My other business has become so busy I'm shot by the weekend which is when I did most of the cab work, and some through the week in slack times. No slack times these days. It's evidenced by the quality issues being described. 7 days a week for the last 7-8 years has taken a toll.
