Potential THT driver

#1 Post by Subsonicspectre »

I can only assume at some point with the previous owner that the Dust Cap came off the driver inside the enclosure.
Just recently what looks like the voice coil former cloth cap came out of the mouth of the horn.
Being the 15" Dayton DVC 385-88 went away several years ago I would rather not risk damage to it.
I may have found a replacement cheaper than the Lab15.

The specs are fine, I'm not wild about the price. If I was to build a THT I'd load it with this: https://www.parts-express.com/GRS-15SSW ... quantity=1

It gives up a couple of dB compared to the more expensive options but with the sensitivity of the THT it's a couple of dB you can spare.

Thanks Bill! I just looked over the specs it's actually closer to spec to the Dayton that's in it already. I'm not sure how I overlooked this driver.
