Subwoofer speaker cloth

I know they sell "special", high permeability cloth for main speakers and their high frequencies, but would any reasonably sheer cloth work for covering the mouth of a Tuba?
2 DR250s, 2 27" Lab15 T-60s, 2 30" Neo Titan 39s, 1 Autotuba...and looking for more!

It would still have to be quite porous. Metal is the best choice.
