Production log
My company built out this stage (with some help from experienced riggers) last night and we decided to go with this wall loading configuration with 6 t48s and a single stereo pair of ot12s on tilt boards and crankstands. I find it deeply amusing how well these otops have kept up with this sub array. They're loaded with s2012s and f151ms and I really had no desire to turn them up any louder than they were. I know it's not the largest room or audience (sold out at 250 cap) but coverage was supreme and even though the subs were at levels that were causing my bones to resonate from basically anywhere in the room, the tops showed zero signs of stress
I was worried using anything but the 3012ho would leave performance on the table but... I'm really not sure I even want or need that extra headroom. As far as I'm aware the s2012 has the next highest VD compared to the 3012ho out of the drivers recommended. If I build more I would certainly continue using these woofers. And if you are reading this and questioning whether you should use the kappalite or basslite, ask yourself how far away the audience is going to be
s2012 is a fabulous woofer and has my recommendation after 2 plus years of abuse and dusty warehouses.

Thank you for your real-world observations. They will come in handy for others. Thumbs up.
Question: those "braces" going from the stage on a compound angle, are they for structure or appearance?

Re: Production log
Purely cosmetic. They were rigged to a baseplate underneath the stage. We all work with trussing regularly but we made sure to hire more experienced labor for this type of installation. We were going for a robot spider theme
the whole party was mad science experiment, laboratory type theming. There was all sorts of interactive installations, the led screens were being controlled by an Xbox controller so people up front could interact with the visuals being displayed. 10/10 most well thought out themed party I've been a part of.

Thank you for the response.
Judging from the pictures I could see some of that theme intent that you mentioned.

Re: Production log
This party was mostly dubstep, like the really loud and screechy stuff
I would argue this music is a pretty extreme use case. It's in tuba territory for sure some of this stuff is even lower than 30hz. Not only that but the djs run levels hot, the music itself is generally self released and poorly made and or uploaded, whether that's intentional or not. But the rig was holding its own for sure. We are in a pretty competitive market so we are competing with Danley, PK sound, HSD, Yorkville, Turbosound, and Kv2, plus a slew of other diy rigs. I can confidently say this is one of the more optimal systems in the area for fringe bass music. The wall loading really flattens things out nicely, the whole room felt like it was on fire
with the theme it felt appropriate to bust out my RTA mic array and REW and really hammer that room out and after moving the subs around WOW. Tons of fun to operate and absolutely brutal spl levels.
