In a word, loud.
Built two of these over the summer. Sold one to a friend because i guess he wants the trunk of his car to buzz like an angry scarab beetle.
I just finished the second AT, moved back to school, and now I have by far the loudest subwoofer in the entire dorm hall---unless of course other students have some BFD cabs around!
The bass is tight sounding, punchy, loud, and extends pretty deep. Not deep enough for movie soundtrack kinda bass, but thats what the bigger cabs are for. The AT gives great sounding bass with any style music. I can really hear the rumbly, grungy sounds when there is low bass guitar content. Kick drum stuff sounds especially punchy and delicious.
I can't seem to feed it more than a couple watts before it starts to shake my room apart. I don't think the school checks for deep structural damage to the walls when I check out.....hehehe
My room is so small that it dosent seem to matter where I place it; it is loud everywhere. I wouldnt want to be in a car when one of these things is being pushed hard.
Overall, very satisfied, and an easy build. Handily beats any non horn kind of design of similar size and weight.
I am using the Tang Band 8'' woofer in it, and it works great. They are still on sale at parts express.
