Speaker wire strain relief

#1 Post by DaveK »

Any tips for strain relief on wiring that has to pass between the driver chamber and the horn? For example, on a Titan the wire runs from the top reflector, through the horn, then into the chamber. On the T39 I built, I drilled a couple small holes, ran the wire, then sealed it with PL. However, I'm worried that if I ever have to work inside the chamber, I might accidentally tug the wire and break the seal. How have you guys protected against this?

Yeah I just used hotmelt. If you knock it (you'd have to knock it hard) just use more hotmelt.

I use PL on the wires. Each in a separate hole. I goop the wire a bit, then pull it into the wood, so it pulls PL into the wood passage way. It ain't going anywhere.
My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.
