Trust me. When I struggled to carry it in to the living room, I got that look that only women can do. I think only men who build extremely unnecessary things will experience it.
And - this is probably twice the size of what I think is appropriate. But I just need to know what it sounds like.

How do you plan on using it: laying down or standing up? Or no set plan? If you think it will get used in one orientation most of the time you could carefully belt sand down a bit of the floor facing side at an angle, removing enough of the material to make it lay flat. If there's more to remove than you think is safe, you could glue a strip of 1/4" or 3/8" to the lower half of that side to bring the low portion up, leaving less high side to remove.

How about: not. As long as it is not rocking or vibrating to the floor, and the floor is consistently dry, you should be perfectly fine with no finish whatsoever. No one is going to sneak behind the couch, flip the thing over and then start moaning like "Hey now listen here Jens, how come this side is not as pretty as the others".

I mean where the driver lid goes. But but I already figured it out. I'll make another lid, with the same fabric, and screw on top of the other one.

Quick question while it breaks in, and i finish the rear chamber:
Why does the voltage change over time, during break-in? I set a tone at 25 Hz, 10 volts exactly. After to hours, it measured 13 volts. Turned it down to 10.
Now after 10 hours, it measured 13 again.
Is this because I use a cheap digital board amp, or is it because the driver specs are changing under break-in, and change the impedance of the driver at 25 Hz, while the resonant frequency drops?
If it's amp related, I have a great reason to buy a new one.
It shouldn't change, so it's the amp or the sine wave generator. While impedance will shift as the driver breaks in that will cause the current to vary, not the voltage.
I'm happy to report that 20 Hz horn extension has been achieved! And way, way, way cleaner than the PC12-NSD.
I won't make a review until I've dialed it in - as I know I'm having amplifier - issues.
Playing a -3db 20 Hz sine wave - with audyssey EQ enabled(boosts the low end), the signal clips at -23db on the marantz. The amplifier is only putting out 6 volts at this stage, and I'm able to turn the knob on the board-amplifier all the way to 16 volts before the amp is giving in.
It the solution to lower the subwoofer-out on the receiver as much as possible, and then turn up the sub-amp to compensate?
This is known as a gain issue in the pro-world, right?
