Marking the last side panel for the Titans....

#1 Post by DAVID_L_PERRY »

There have been a number of posts about accurately marking the last side panel of the titan subs (to allow for the internal panels being slightly out of line)

I found what I think to be a fool proof method.......

With the side panel temporarily fitted in place (just sat in place with some clamp holding it rigid) you can simply reach inside the rear and main driver chamber and draw exactly where the panels are onto the inside panel....simple...it just takes a pencil, no large sheets of drawing paper to trace the lines....

Remove the panel and then add a second line to show the thickness of the internal panels and its done, very accurate and very quick....

Dave

edit...just spotted this was noted at the end of the very thread I was talking about...and here was me thinking I was a genius....

Unfortunately the 'Dave perry moment' refers not to a moment of brilliance, but sadly to a moment of blatant stupidity running along side ignorance, closely followed by a sudden awareness that its all been done before......and then followed by Harley laughing his clever socks off at me

Hmmm.... I just like it when I arrive at one of either of your conclusions. But then, I live in Miami and teach in a university. It's a good (and rare) day when I see a good idea. I have long since given up on having any ;-)
