Jack 12 Speaker Choice
I plan to build a Jack 12 for electric bass. For those who have already built this or 212 what speaker did you install? Choose one in the poll above.

Hello and welcome to the forum
Please note the intended purpose of the cab, bass, full range PA etc.
While I'm tempted to respond to the "bass" part of your user name, that would be an assumption...

Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

The reasons for choosing a specific driver are clearly stated in the plans. What someone else decided to use doesn't matter. What your particular needs are do.

How much power will you be putting in it? If it's a smaller amp, you might go with a 2512 to save a little money. If you are going to hit it hard or want to go really low, then go with the 3012HO.jallenbass wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 9:41 am Yes, this would be a bass cabinet. Added to the original post.
You are going to put a lot of time and effort into building a great cab, don't skimp on the driver.

The amp is my wonderful sounding Ampeg PF-50T. The 2512 is what I'm currently leaning toward.Bruce Weldy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 10:39 amHow much power will you be putting in it? With only 50 watts there's no advantage to using either high power rated or long xmax drivers.
