Two AT's sucessfully drive a block party...

High-passed at 45 Hz and pointed at the center of my closed garage door, the pair were able to hit the loudness curve (pictured below) at 50 feet out into the middle of the street without peaking above 10V, at any time throughout the event.

Trying my best to respect the curve yielded a satisfying level of background music that no one had to raise their voice to speak over, yet provided enough beef and definition in the bass department to keep people interested in sticking around. In terms of sound quality, it clearly wasn't an iPod dock.

The lower levels also ensured that the bass wasn't punching through people's homes two doors down the street.

No complaints = a good time.

Nice. No video? I'd be interested as there aren't many videos showing AT's in half space or quarter space.

How did the garage door work as a boundary? Id be worried about resonances and vibrations creating unwanted noise, unless it was a thick wood door.

No video this time around, as it ended up being a very busy day.

The garage door worked well enough. It's an insulated metal type. I'd say by the sound of it, I was right at its practical limit power-wise, before vibrating too much. Any more and I think I'd have been in trouble, but it definitely did it's job above 60 Hz as I had to throttle things back a good bit (from my math where I just assumed 1/2 space) in the crossover region in order to balance the sound out....like a good -10 dB or so.

Inside the closed garage was obviously a ruckus, but outside in the street was clean palpable bass.

I'm running a 10" loaded AT in my backyard to fill in the bottom end a little. It definitely works good in the moderate volume levels I do around the pool.

I v-plated my 2 AT's in a open garage out towards the culdesac last year and it sounded to clear and punchy. The PA+ barely registered on the vu meter
