Christmas Gigs

#1 Post by BrentEvans »

Any interesting Christmas gigs this year? I have a few, mostly just sound reinforcement for plays, but I did pick up a lighting show for a church cantata (using my new LED rig  )which has been the most fun so far.

Programmed 30 some cues for this ... some of them aren't immediately apparent but they deal with setting the movers for their next scenes so you don't get flashes of light and color as you bring them up.

This runs through the cues... while not having the music does detract from it, it's still neat.

99% of the time, things that aren't already being done aren't being done because they don't work. The other 1% is split evenly between fools and geniuses.

Brent, that's very cool. Makes the space look bigger than it actually is.

I just set up 2 otops and 2 dual loaded t30s for my son's girlfriend's company party (freebie from me for her to get some brownie points). No lights, hazer, fog, or lasers - only sound. They expect around 140 people in a ballroom at a Strip casino. They are playing Christmas music off a cell phone for the dinner party, then hopefully opening the system up a little for some dancing later.

I'm like a nervous dad since i am not there babysitting my system. Texts from my son say the system is performing great. I'll see if we can get some pics of the event and will post them.
