Bah humbug

#1 Post by Charles Jenkinson »

Was all geared up for taking my jacks and a T30 into the office tomorrow, to play some christmas music, and then some bloody bureaucrat on the building lease responsibility side of the fence mentioned Performance rights licence. So, I got a quote off PRS within an hour - £34. Too bad it is all too late now - it wasn't resolved in the last 2 hours of the day. We were, and still are having a bring and share lunch, sans music.

Always remember, you can take a bureaucrat to water, but you can't make him think.

Bah humbug.

Bah humbug.
Cynical Grant wonders if old mate has the UK rights for "Jingle Bells" and wanted his 1 pence in royalties.
The "issue" should have been raised way before the last couple of hours the day before though.
Or is that simply another example of beauracracy?

Still, it is the right thing to do (Here in Oz, by and large, the venue has said licence, so DJ's and muso's are covered), but out on your own, you need your own licence.

Merry Christmas Charles :)
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

If old mate does have the UK rights for jingle bells I know where he can shuv them.

Ref. the question; the music would have been a nice bolt on to activities and Christmas mood making. But folks are 'busy' at the moment - it is most accurately described as political pissing contests, where things that aren't important in the scheme of things don't get dealt with till the 11th hour, where a counter blow (I.e. further, higher or more accurate piss) can scupper things.

I'll set the system up at home instead.

Thanks for the wishes though Grant. Blessings to you and yours.

"got one mate, don't worry" is always a valid reply.

That's why my ancestors left the B.I. 2 centuries ago. A lot of that stuff followed them of course but we get to dodge a lot more PC shit here than you Poms have to put up with. I feel for you bro!
