Taking and 'Authorised Builder Sabatical'

#1 Post by Harley »

For those who have good memories and have been here a long time, you'll recall I was the Authorised BFM cab builder for 'Down under' for many years.

Due to the company I work for purchasing an air filtration company in Christchurch, the South Island of New Zealand, I'm moving down there to become the 'Yoda of air filtration' and help the team build up their business nation-wide.

Having been too busy lately to even think of building cabs and the fact that I will have to leave my lovely workshop behind in Auckland ( my sons gain use of it...), there's no sense in me pretending I'm the cab builder of yesteryear so I'm stepping back from being an Authorised Builder and thus let someone else have an opportunity.

There's every chance that once I finish my contract and move back to Auckland, I may become bored with retirement and want to start some sawdust flying, we'll see.

Bill and Leland are great friends who have helped me with the business I did generate over the years and I'm grateful for their support.

Oh, and if you Aussies think you're off the hook now and you're not going to get any stick over using third rate Selley's products or not knowing how to win the 'Rugby World Cup 2015'....sorry, I'll be chiming in on the forum now and again! :noob:

Good news for you Harley!

Obviously you've been busy as of late, as you haven't been around much.
Looking forward to your wit when you drop in every now and again.

Gday Harley, Best of luck with your Christchurch pursuits. No doubt the business down there will be making it worth your while, so instead of being sad about your going, I'm going to be happy that you'll be even better equipped for retirement!

Thanks for your advice and encouragement over the years.

Not good after the first day I am afraid.

Maybe we should bring the retirement plan to move to Eden, NSW a little closer and not spend so much time in Ch Ch 8)

In the short amount I got to watch yesterday, NZ looked a bit under prepared.
No surprise, I watched the last hour or so up to stumps, and the Kiwis had been flogged around the paddock all day. Not enough consistency in line and length from your bowlers.

Haha.
Mate, it's like me moving to Queensland being a New South Welshman around State of Origin time.
It doesn't lessen the pain of the result (not that the test is over yet).

Still, Eden is a lovely place and not so far away from anywhere (unlike Ilfracombe) that you might be able to generate some more work as an Authorised builder for Bill over here to top up your retirement :D
