Where can I get DuraTex paint in UK?

Helpful hints on how to build 'em, and where to get the stuff you need.

Where can I get DuraTex paint in UK?

#1 Post by djshortpaul »

Does anyone know where you can get DuraTex paint in the UK or if there is a similar alternative? Someone suggested floor paint but I'm not sure if it will be suitable or not. Any thoughts?

Thanks. Paul.

It's the one thing that's cheaper in the UK than in the US. I keep hoping they will sell it here ;-)

Yeah, I've got to see this blue colour! I'm just at the stage of ordering paint.

Typical how the Blue aran stuff is cheaper than aldcrofts...even when its made by Aldcrofts !!!

same product code:-

http://www.frappr.com/?a=viewphoto&id=1 ... myphotos=1

Nice looking cab build Will....
How have you found the Aldcrofts paint hold up to scratches so far....?
I have to say that mine are pretty susceptable to scrapes, far more so than any other painted cabs I can compare them to...HK/Turbosound

Having said that the first batch I had was much thinner in consistancy than my latest tub that I have got for my DR280's so perhaps I had a bad batch first..... :?

Hi Dave
I didnt buy it from Aldcrofts, was just about to order it from them when I found Blue Aran were selling it with cheaper postage, and being a Yorkshireman :D --- anyway I needed some handles so it was no contest
Not had chance to test its durability yet but it seems to be a really tough finish. Must admit I am really chuffed with my first born cab, it blows every other cab I have used away and I think it sounds superb with my Markbass amp!

Please post a review when you get the chance. Keep in mind that what most interests readers/potential builders is how it compares to other cabs you've owned/used. Thanks.

If it's the same stuff I'll go with the Blue Aran paint. I've also got some other bits to get too. That website seems to be getting pretty good nowadays.

Dave - when do you expect to have your subs finished? I'm just waiting for the bits for my OT112s to be delivered. I've also found a decent place to buy the wood where they'll cut it down to size to fit in my Astra
