While it is interesting, and might have some applications for users on here, the US$2500 initial price tag is way too steep. You can build a CNC router adapted like this for a lot less.draehn wrote:This may be the answer for jack plates, handle holes and custom logos on our cabinets......

Yes. But it's coming. Soon someone will offer a kit or, we must hope, a DIY version!

Re: New kind of CNC machine.
Being that size eventually a rental house would have them. That would be a game changer and put them into the hands of anyone.
Built:
17" width 10" driver Autotuba
2 x 29" width dual Lab12 Tuba60
6 x DR250 2510/asd1001
In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001
For best results, point the loud end of the array towards the audience

Re: New kind of CNC machine.
I finished my build of this one recently http://www.holzmechanik.de/solidis_eng.html
Built using plywood, which was why I chose it as I have no metal work skills.
Chatted about it and showed some pictures in my build thread http://www.billfitzmaurice.info/forum/v ... 30&t=23121
and I LOVE IT!!!
