Skid Rails

I have been looking for an item that could be used to make skid rails for a pair of Titan 39s that I just finished building. They need to be plastic strips that could be mounted on the back of the cabinet. The purpose is to protect the cabinet and allow it to slide down steps, etc. I looked at several possibilities listed on other forums and finally found one that worked really well. The product I used was a skate board rail. There are several brands of the rails and they are intended to be mounted on the bottom side of a skateboard for protection. I used black Pig Rails but most any brand should work. You can order them online or buy them from a local skateboard shop. Here is what they look like.

I forget exactly what I used here, but I bought a 2x2 ft sheet from mcmaster carr for this build and beveled em on the table saw.

Great tip! I did the same thing to some old Peavey 118 subs I refurbished some years ago. This means I may not have to bug my machine shop buddy for any more delrin

Great idea for a source for rails! Thanx for sharing, I think I might just order a couple pairs!
