This guy can get parts-express stuff for ppl at reasonable prices??
Bassme put up av.darcher.com.au in post 1 page one of this thread, in reference to a Tang Band driver. If it's still available, look at that as an option...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel. Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

I must be getting old (I am actually ). I've never heard of some of those driver names - HiVi, Tang, Mark Audio, . . .
Most of my designs were based on Vifa drivers.
it's a legit store (contrary to what you might read in the Whirlpool forum)
there's a friendly and helpful guy on point (Daniel)
the prices are much lower than Cecere's (but higher than <insert US eBay seller>).
OTOH:
one gets the impression that this is a pretty small operation run by folk chewing as fast as they can.
the website doesn't inform you that many of the items are not in stock, so delivery will involve two cargo movements, the first one being from overseas.
in my particular case, said international cargo movement was subject to a rather long delay.
So the upshot is: they're worth a try, particularly if you are not on a tight schedule.

When small businesses first start up, they can't afford to hold a lot of stock (or any stock).
As they grow, they slow start to build up stock of the biggest sellers and then expand on that.
However, as they're growing, their prices often grow as well.

I should know - I married one!!!!!
Stop stealing our women! (Old habits die hard, eh?)
I absolutely promise NEVER to do it again!!!!!
Actually my wife and I will be flying into Bristol on 6th March. But then heading straight down to Torquay to see her father.
It was a pleasant surprise as trying to find suitable drivers here was what drove me up the wall building for others.
I'll let you know how it goes as a 13'' AT is happening here at the moment, then a dual 8'' TAT, then an 8" Truck Tuba.... and so on.
Not selling, these are gifts to people who have everything.

Is there a BFM self help group is Aus?
Hi Keryn
That looks a suitable driver.
The main property to look for is "Vd", which is "Sd" x "Xmax".
The W-220PII is made in China.
They don't seem to display what all the T/S parameters are. I couldn't even find the Xmax.
However, I think this driver would do fine in an Auto Tuba, especially as the surround is rubber and not foam.
Foam rots very quickly inside a car.
This thread is probably the best thread for Aussie info for BFM designs and builds. Although once you start your build, you are better off posting in the dedicated builds threads.
Grant Bunter is a very experienced Aussie builder and has done a lot of research on Aussie materials, tools, etc for BFM builds.
Grant keeps a look out for Aussies on the forum and I'm sure you will hear from him soon.

G'day Keryn,
Looks like a potential good find. As you say, doesn't happen here to often.
Let us know how it goes if you decide to take the punt.
Jaycar can be pretty obliging, when it suits them.
If you want TS parameters, I'd give head office a call on 02 8832 3100
Or e-mail them at techstore@jaycar.com.au
If they say TS parameters aren't available, all bets are off.
As far as the self help group, you're already a member
Nordo,
Keryn's a great guy, and was an authorised BFM builder here in Oz for a time.
He built some very nice cabs!
There's not a lot I can tell him lol...

I didn't recognise the name, so I thought Keryn was new to the forum.
I should have noted the number of posts Keryn's made.
