The Ultimate AutoTuba
Re: The Ultimate AutoTuba
Is that AT *actually* that bright and shiny to the naked eye /without a flash going off? Looks awesome- great job!
2 DR250s, 2 27" Lab15 T-60s, 2 30" Neo Titan 39s, 1 Autotuba...and looking for more!
Re: The Ultimate AutoTuba
Believe it or not, it actually is. What's REALLY funny is that it was sprayed with "satin" laquer. But when the wax went on and buffed, it just popped. God only know what the heck would have happened had I sprayed it with gloss!!!

You're a teenager too? I only wish I had that kind of attention to detail when building my first horn at 16. Nice work, and it's always good to see us young people getting into DIY.

Thanks bassmonster! I'm 18 btw and I knew how I wanted the AT to look so I just worked until I achieved my goal hahabassmonster wrote:and it's always good to see us young people getting into DIY.![]()

Nice... I'm liking the 'plain' brace as a juxtaposition to the stained horn.
Re: The Ultimate AutoTuba
Thanks man! I really wanted it to pop and be easily noticed! I think I accomplished that

I know this is an old thread, but I just saw it today, and WOW!!! Great job!! Looks amazing and professional, I would be showing that off to everyone especially those people with much larger and more expensive systems that you out performed with a fraction of the wattage!!
I am in the process of building two long style table tubas using a couple of extra JL Audio 8W0 I had laying around.
I hope my cabinets turn out as good looking as yours!!!
Again, AWESOME JOB!!!

I would just like to say, that I was there with him on most of this build and it is so much fun to have a son who "gets it"
