Don't use Australia Post ShopMate

#1 Post by SimonD »

I recently purchased some speaker stand brackets in the US for my new Dr250 speakers. Unfortunately I foolishly decided to use the new Australian Post, ShopMate, to ship them back. I thought that since I am sending a package I may as well add a few other items with it so I purchased two matchbox cars that my son can't get in Australia, and had them shipped to ShopMate as well. Australia Post, ShopMate, want to charge me US$42.80 for the stand brackets, $26.87 for one matchbox car and $20.92 for the other? WTF? If I had used Shipito, they would have bundled the items together for $1 and sent them as a single parcel for about $20. I know as I have used them before and they were cheap, reliable and on-time.
This just seems to be one giant rip-off and there is pretty much nothing I can do about it other than just give up the goods.

This is the size of the brackets, I think you know how big a matchbox car is :-)

They probably figured that Aussies are so used to getting screwed that they wouldn't notice it.

"the new Australian Post, ShopMate"...no doubt run by greedy Colonial Masters ( many of whom disguise themselves as Govt servants ).

Been there, experienced that. We get the same, however we also get the Aussie ones who have been trained by 'The same Colonial Masters'. We get our revenge by sending over some of our drug dealers and Russell Crowe. The Americans had the right idea back in the 1776
