pleased to report the new site is up and working fine for me and remembered my password lol.

Just went to User profile and tried to put in my facebook address.

Copied and pasted https://www.facebook.com/BuntersAudioAndLighting

User error, cannot contain xyz (presumably the / )

What am I meant to put in there please?
Yep, mine too. Tried taking out the https:// - sometimes that works....but, not now. Looks like it's thinks there is supposed to be just a website there - that won't work with facebook.

Was it in there before?

I just pasted that into mine and it worked fine. I then tried to apply it via Admin in your profile and that worked too. I'll have to find the login and password for my amoeba account to test.

Could you get me a copy of the error?

I've had a look at the old database and I can't see a website set:

Correct Chris!

Website was not previously set

However, I wasn't trying to put in my FB page as a website/www, I was trying to put in my FB page in the Facebook field

So:
If I try to put, in the Facebook field:
https://www.facebook.com/BuntersAudioAndLighting
then hit submit, at the top of CP I get the error msg:
The field “Facebook” has invalid characters, only alphanumeric or . characters are allowed.

If I reduce the input to:
BuntersAudioAndLighting
then hit submit, it says updated, but when I go back to my profile (clicking profile under my user name) there is no radio button. Does it link?

What it shows is:
Email address:
PM: {Send private message}
Website: {Visit website}
Facebook:

T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Also, had another page open (the Sales page), as I always do, to switch hit between the forum and sales page for info.

Went to the forum from the sales page, then went to click the BF sign up the top to go back to the sales page (as you could previously do, landing on the "welcome" page) and it defaulted to forum index page...

I found this online:

Basically saying you don't need the facebook bit, just BuntersAudioAndLighting.

I've checked the settings for Facebook and this link is being generated correctly, however, it isn't being displayed in the profile or within the topic view.

I'm not not sure if everyone was seeing the site using the correct style, but it may be a template issue why it isn't showing up though I would still expect to see it in the Profile view, especially since there is already a "Facebook" header and no link.

I'll keep poking around - I love all these fun and games after an upgrade!

That should be fixed now.

OK, so the link is actually there:
facebooklink.png
However, the image size is 0x0 pixels. So the image is either missing or incorrectly referenced, either way, I'll have to do some digging to fully trace it.

The theme stylesheet didn't even have a reference, so I've copying in the reference from the www image until I can draw a facebook one.

True, but now there is a link that says 'Home', which takes you to the catalog page. It's to the left of 'Board Index', which we've always had.

That link has been the bane of my existence. I dont know how many times i've been taken to the catalog page when i wanted forum index.

Great job on the new site Chris.
Chris_Allen wrote:OK, we're also now Tapatalk'ed - I've had a quick play and that works. So give it a try.
I've just tried viewing the site on tapatalk and I can see all the latest and unread posts etc but the only sub-forum that shows up is the "Authorised Builders Showcase" sub-forum (this is when you tap on the forum name at the top). Can that be fixed or is it a feature/limitation?

I've not used tapatalk much because my favourite site wasn't on it. Guess I'll be using it a whole lot more now! :hyper:

It's an app that I don't really use. I've got the unread section where I can see the posts as well as the participated section and also see only the Showcase sub forum.

Now, the top levels of this site are configured as categories, where the Auth Builders showcase is actually a forum. So I don't know whether this is a bug with the Tapatalk plugin (it's new to the latest version of PHPBB) or the structure needs changing.

I may experiment with the config to test.
