I finally got set up to spray and I'm very pleased with the results. Roller and paintbrush just don't come out right for me, but spraying gives a nice texture and is a lot faster, too.
I used the Harbor Freight hopper gun and a Porter-Cable 6 gal, 0.8 hp pancake compressor. The compressor was rated for 3.7 cfm @ 40 psi, while the sprayer wants 4-6 cfm @ 50-70 psi, but it worked fine. It could spray continuously and was throwing Duratex 3-4 feet. I was using roller formula and one gallon did a T39 and 2 Wedgehorns.
Good to know. I have a hopper gun and a friend has offered to let me use his compressor. I was considering doing the roller anyway....just because I have done it before and it came out pretty well... May push to borrow the compress tho after hearing your report.
You can use speaker stands, lighting stands PVC or extra wood to build a little spray booth and just hang news paper or old sheets to catch the over spray.

I just let it blow into my neighbors yard.
And across his driveway where his new white Lexus is parked...
