Thanks again to everyone leading up to this for all the help throughout the build and preparing for this event.
I brought my Otop's and 28" T30's to Burningman this year to dj for our officially placed theme camp this year. I knew I was short on subs with only having the single pair of T30's but it still sounded great. I v-plated them. Clean solid bass for a good 30' or so in front of the stage. The Otops I could still pick out from almost a block away, even with other music going and other camp's various infrastructure in the way! A number of times, I had the a bunch of the other neighboring camps dancing up a storm and telling me to turn it up more.
For protection, I took some pallet plastic wrap and covered all of the speakers in it and then covered them with fabric. I could pick out a little bit of noise from the plastic on the subs, but it was worth it to have everything come home working (even after enduring the rain storm). I had to make a sign so nobody would kill the v-plate because I didn't have time to make the brace for it.
To protect the amps & electronics, I cut some home air filter and gaffe taped it to the front and back of the case. It didn't completely keep the dust out but I only had minimal dust inside the amps and pa+ to blow out and clean. I did take most of an entire afternoon just to clean all the cables and speakers.
On one of the last few nights, I ran into another art car and talked with a gentleman who had helped build their 2 T60's and 2 DR280's Sadly, they didn't have any gas left in their generator so I didn't get to hear it.
It was a great time and now have at some pictures:
