Glad to hear that your Dad's (physical) injuries are all minor. Hopefully he isn't too scarred upstairs either :fingers:, 'cause it's not just the physical injuries that hurt.

On to practicalities (I hope you don't mind - Dad is most important, but as he's ok): I would have thought that despite all the damage, the drivers would still be good. Have you had a chance to check out the cabs yet and actually see what's salvageable? How are you going to cover any gigs that you are booked for until you can get the rig rebuilt?

Thanks... and again, I hope you don't mind the more mundane questions (when compared to the important one of family).

Glad to hear your dad is ok.
He had someone watching over him during this chain of events.
Let us know how it goes with the insurance company.

Take care and hug your Dad.

Dad was a dog handler on the front lines in Viet Nam. This is far from the worst he's been through.

I haven't gotten into them yet but this impact was enough to break the steel frame of the trailer... it's enough to warp stamped frame drivers. I don't have high hopes for much.

I have friends with gear, so it's all covered with no issues. Liability insurance should pay for the rental too.

Started digging into the carnage today. It looks like the cases mostly did their jobs. The mixer started up and passed audio. Still have to test amps and about half the speakers. There will be a lot of bondo and perhaps some line-x in the future. The Duratex finishes are a mess, but the one cab I have with line-x was unscathed (except a bent in grille... maybe have that line-xed too?).

Found a guy who can line-x my boxes for about $85-$90 each... hmm....

Brent, sorry to hear this. Glad Dad is ok. If it's any consolation I had a wheel bearing go out on a trailer four weeks ago when I was making a speaker delivery. Luckily I caught it at a rest area before it became catastrophic. Then this last week my transmission went out when I was making another delivery. Again, God was watching over us because it happened right before I got on the interstate.

Glad to hear your dad is well. Sorry about the rest of the carnage; however, it sounds like things might not be as bad as originally thought? Best wishes

Yikes, that doesn't look pretty. As above, glad your dad appears fine man, that's a pretty damn serious accident.
