Friday the 13th struck today...

#1 Post by BrentEvans »

What a day. Dad was pulling the trailer with almost every piece of gear I own from my place to his so we could repack everything, and flipped the truck and trailer down an embankment. He's got out and is OK, but God was watching over him. It could have been a whole lot worse.

Obviously the vehicles are total losses, but unfortunately, most of my rig probably is too. Despite being strapped in it took a tumble (well, two tumbles, they had to right the trailer and everything crashed around again). Oh, and I have a gig tomorrow (gear for the gig is covered thanks to a friend). Hopefully insurance will come through.

I haven't posted all the carnage but needless to say there's a lot of deep gashes and cracks in cabs, cases, and all the electronics took a big shock. Time to rebuild!

Glad to hear you Dad is OK Brent.

Best of luck with your gear - hopefully most of it can be salvaged.

What caused the roll-over? Thank God nobody was badly hurt. Gear can be replaced, people can't...

The trailer caught some wind and fishtailed throwing the truck down the bank. The trailer then jerked the truck around 180 degrees and landed like you see. It was bad, but could have been worse.

Must have been some wind! Do you get violent winds like this often in your area?

Wow. Glad he's ok. Gear is the least important part of this crash.

Sorry to hear it Brent. Those photos of your smashed up rig look bad, but as everyone has said, we'd rather see that than photos of a smashed up Dad. Did he walk away totally unscathed, or are there a few knocks and bruises?

Wishing you both well.

Aidan

He's sore from the seat belt and got some scratches crawling through the brier patch to get out, but nothing major.

Really sorry to hear about your equipment damage. Everybody here knows the effort and energy it takes to build these speakers, but it all pales compared to your father's well being.
For you, today really is the day you appreciate your father. Glad he's still around.
