Hey,
Try shining a halogen work light inside your build, and check the seams from the outside in a dark room. You may be surprised that your caulk/PL has a few hairline cracks or pinholes. If you've got a good tight seal, you shouldn't be able to see light through the seams.
I found a few little spots myself tonight doing that.

Ah, this may work best on a Tuba then - You can't fire it up properly until you're done (unless you want to keep reinstalling and removing the driver) and by then, how do you get to the areas deep inside to fix your mistakes?
Many checks can be made, this is a quick one you can do while it's still half-open like my Tuba 24.

You can you use my technique - run 300 watts of a sine wave through an Eminence Beta. Then, watch for smoke in the horn throat.
