a Big hello from South-Africa

#1 Post by jadedgem »

Hello gents

I am Brian Ferreira from Bloemfontein, South-Africa. Every few decades you get a guy that just changes the way of audio. Such a man was James B Lansing. With his horn designs changed the way of cinema forever. In our generation I see another such genius in Bill FitzMaurice.

I don't think people really see the magnificance of these designs. Me and my partner at our audio buisness bought all the design plans and are keen on being the first Bfm franchise in our lovely country if we can get the go ahead from Mr Bill himself.

As our company logo states- By audiophiles For audiophiles. I think these cabinets are every audiophiles wetdream. Close to 7 billion people on the planet and I only see 10 000 views on some of the posts here. I think Mr Bill must get the recognition he deserves.

Thank you Bill for these designs. It must have taken years of blood, sweat and beers to get to where you are now.

The one thing that grabbed me about Bill is his approach to sound. Before I even knew this website existed I saw a post from him on another forum where he told a guy "the thing that bugs him most about audiophiles is that they are to worried about what they read on a chart" and I thought to myself wow someone who thinks like me. Why be bothered about a sub that can go 15Hz if the average human ear can only ear to about 30Hz.

Looking forward to begin on constructing these awesome cabinets.

G'day Brian,
Welcome to the forum :)

In case you have searched but not found other users/builders, there are a few on your continent.

BFMer "Pulseman" is using T48's and Otops regularly in SA.
http://www.pulse-entertainment.co.za/

Perhaps contact him to get a first hand look/hear of just what these systems can do!
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

ouch!

A comeback is required:
I'm not sad at all that the Australian Cricket team defeated SA in SA to regain the number one position in world rankings :)

From what I've seen of builds over there, they aren't bad either...

This is starting to sound like a Longhorns vs. Aggies thing here.

When when describing the Aggies, Longhorns say, "Texas A&M - where the men are men and the sheep are scared."

4 - OT12 2512

OTOH do you know why they had to put artificial turf in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium? To stop the cheerleaders from grazing. :loler:

Texan gets pulled over by a Oklahoma DPS....

DPS - You from Oklahoma?

Texan - Hell no! Only whores and linebackers come from there.

DPS - My wife is from Oklahoma....

Texan - Oh......who'd she play for?
