SLA pro and single T24 at wedding

#1 Post by johns811 »

Did my nephew wedding with a pair of SLA pros and a single T24 sub 20". Building was a barn styled party center about 75x100' with 100 guests. No problem filling the room with sound. Played mostly modern country and typical wedding dance tunes. All sound great IMO. Had a black table cloth over my table with the sub tucked under it. Could not even see it. My dad was like I can't hear it. I was dad if I shut it off, you can! This is great setup for small to medium size venus. I was barely pushing it and it was plenty loud for this crowd.

Brilliant! I had the same comments with the Titans. People were saying 'are they working'. In the end I turned the subs off for a moment and the music sounded like a wasp in a beer can!

Standard SLA pro but used the Dayton driver (4x) and goldwood tweeters (4x). Did not cut and make the 6x version. Here is a picture http://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewt ... 13&t=15103

I would love to build some T24's. It would be really cool to not have to bring the trailer for really small jobs. Seems I've had tons of those recently. Full range tops are just not the same.

Was able to pack 2 amp cases, sla pro, sub, stands and 3 days of clothes in the back of a Saturn VUE. Still got 30mpg.

I'm also considering the Simplex 15 Prosub as well for the time being just to go along with the OT12's. That'd fit the interior pack space nicely.

That's one good analogy. Note to self.

Yeah it's always funny when you have such a smooth sounding sub, people tend not to believe it's working until you switch the amp off and you lose an obscene amount of low end.

Its even funnier when you corner load and V Plate your subs and people are staring at your tops wondering what manner of speaker is that :loler:

Haha, yeah we had some dudes who throw events from a city an hour away come over for one of our nights and one of them was just stood staring at the 2 OT12s in amazement and then asked "are those making all that bass?!"

I laughed and pointed him at the 2 wall loaded T60s hidden in the darkness.
