I bought one from Maplins ............aaaaaand it seems a bit shit. It doesn't seem to hold temperature very well but I'm not sure whether that's because I was using it outside in the sun or not.

Shit like Skrillex, Kill the Noise, 12th Planet... It's basically the hyper ADHD little brother of UK dubstep which initially was all about sub bass and monging out in a dark cannabis smoke filled basement. Brostep is all about assaulting your ears with mids and highs, samples thrown about at random and making as much use of Massive synth presets as possible.

For the record I used to listen to this when the style was new and exciting but it got boring pretty quickly, kids seem to still love it but then we all know kids are stupid. I remember when Skrillex had just hit Myspace and put out that free EP. Man how time flies.

vs original UK dubstep...

I like all varieties of electronic music, but I find that "brostep" is better for ragers than UK style, simply because it's high energy.

Not that I wouldn't love chilling in a basement with bowls and bass

Uk dubstep has just as much energy, bif not more imo (plus an ample portion of "vibes" :p)

The difference is you need 2-3x as many subwoofers to reveal it when compared to brostep.

Your talking to someone who thinks 6 t48s is "adequate" for 200 person room and some proper bassweight selections.

I'm running 2 KW181 a friend has that are serving as stands (half of a divided room) and my T60 as a place for girls to dance on as it vibrates their entire leg :) this friday and I totally know what you mean by "Adequate" It's not about how much you need, it's about how much more fun and energetic the crowd will be when you drop that >115 dB bass :p that being said I only play "full retard loud" or "War volume" during setup, before 10 PM, pesky cops. Oh did I mention this is in a 500 sqft room. Oodles of bass. Only reason I'm letting him use his subs is it takes up less floor space mounting speakers on poles (I know not close to ideal, not my call) and the other option was stack 6 PA speakers(2 stacks of 3) and power 2-4 of them for looks.

The sad truth is that in my part of California the only EDM based music you can play that girls will dance to is trap, and Deorro. They much prefer Hip-Hop. No way in hell will I ever get to play Reso at the party but for sure I'll be demoing deep bass songs for my friend to show how much better the T60 sounds than his KW's. I'll do my best to get pictures of girls dancing on the "Vibrating Stage" but most likely I'll be policing.

If the we want people to get out fast (we invited a ton of people and it may get overwhelming) we have like 4 different strategies for clearing the house, I argued for 25 Hz sine wave/17 kHz tone or siren samples with accompanying tire screech and cop voice samples.

Interesting read. Bear in mind your under bridge setup had little to no boundary reinforcement. Bringing it indoors and wall loading is equivalent to doubling the entire stack. Add v-plating ftw.

The system is down 6dB at the nominated highpass frequency.

Don't underestimate the bulk of T48 for floor footprint and transport.
BAT10, Bad Auto Tuba. Reverse folded TAT to fit JBL 1014D, 350W driver, voltage limit unknown.
