Mobile Disco - 2x Lab12 24" Titan 39's

#1 Post by BassheadUK »

Well, just got home from the first gig with my T39's - I still need to finish them off I've yet to fill, paint, fit the castors & corners.

Sadly, I was without a corner, however I did manage to finish a V Plate all be it at the cost of almost loosing a finger!

Tonights gig, was a wedding, for a group of friends, they had requested that any traditional music be banned opting for "club" style, we had one DJ that done a few funk/soul tracks then it was back to house, classic trance etc for the remaining night. Now when you play in a hotel there is always the problem of crowd wants loud, manager wants not quite as loud, as do the guests who are paying for a good nights sleep. We ended up crossing the line, and upsetting a few guests, we were asked to turn the system down, but always ended up cranking it back up.

Bass heaven, crossed with my DCX at 45/100hz using my Mackie SRM 450v2's crossed 100-20000, the place was shaking. Sadly couldn't record any voltages, however the JBL MPX1200 was still blowing cool air out of it at the end of the night, it had sat there and cruised all night.

My build didn't go quite to plan, the learning curve of imperial measurements means I had a few scrap panels, however I thought it best to learn rather than convert everything. I lost a channel on a mates amp, that took a Lab12 with it, this was on Wednesday, so I ordered up another driver Thursday and begged that it was sent out on next day for delivery on Friday so I could fit and test ready for Saturday.

Compliment after compliment on the sound. It just worked. I need some tops now, the Mackie just don't cut it for me. Im thinking that a couple of DR250's as I have a massive box of Monacor MPT-016 tweeters waiting to be used. As I'm not in a massive hurry for these units, I don't care how long they take to build.

This is it. I've got that bug.

Bill..... Thank you.
I plan to build a couple of DR250's & Autotuba.
WARNING - LAB12 T39's are EXCELLENT

Congrats.

Even with all the curve balls, you've managed to pull it off!

Yup, you've been bitten.
