PS-don't use the bell housing bolts to draw it in (if that's what you did). It should slide all the way in, so that the two mating surfaces are touching.

That's how I did it. I encountered some resistance, but I didn't hear anything snap. So that means I just bent it enough to screw it up. Either way it still needs fixing and I'm taking it to the shop Wednesday. Hopefully they can fix my speedometer too. I would fix it myself, but I'm going into senior year of highschool on Monday and simply don't have the time to drop the rear transfer case.

In other news, senior drive-thru is Monday. It's like a parade with our cars through the carpool lines and parking lot of the school. I'll be decked out. I'm painting my wheels yellow and blue (school colors), a giant school logo on the hood, the awoooogah horn, air horns will be played, my supercharger will be hooked up and whining, the car will be packed with friends, and of course, the dual TT will be in the back. Time to melt some faces!

Senior drive thru went well and the Forester and dual TT attracted a lot of attention. Blew a fuse with the flashers and horn and dual TT all doing at once. The car is in the shop now getting the transmission fixed.

So my transmission is in the shop getting a full rebuild. The shop said that my transmission was not damaged when I installed it, it is previous damage from the previous owner.
I got scammed, but I already know the guy's name, his address, his Facebook, his wife, and his kid. Not sure if I have any legal recourse for this, though.

Bassmonster that senior drive through party sounds unreal, it seems the more I check out this forum, the more I feel America is accurately portrayed in the cinema and T.V.

I'm thinking movies like Dazed & Confused, Grease, Porky's, Pitch Perfect - pretty much every bloody U.S. High School / College Movie, show quite 'festive' educational institution's, rituals, rites of passage not to mention Epic Parties. Am I right?

Don't get me wrong, we had all sorts of clandestine activities throughout High School, certainly none that were organised let alone encouraged by our schools though.

A senior drive through, well I'll be! Closest thing we've got to that is the annual Summernats Car Festival held around new years. Bogan rev head paradise! Most people I know have been at least once.
'Schoolies' however... Up to three weeks of semi-organised chaos in Surfers Paradise. School Leavers party week for year 12 graduates. I left school in year 11, so I went then at 17 and back the following year at 18 just for another taste whilst being legally permitted to drink.

Ehh, my school doesn't have any epic parties, but there are plenty of stories. I've always wanted to go to Summernats! I've watched almost all those videos on Youtube. You Australians build some crazy fast cars.

In the late 90's I got a call from a mate. "Can you come and do a follow spot for me at Summernats?". "Sure", "Great, bring the family in any time you want and have a look around, but you might have to get your wife and the kids to go for a walk while you do the spot op".

Turns out I was spot opping for the strippers and then the band that followed.
I had the best seat in the place

Of course strippers are not PC so you can't see that at family friendly Summernats anymore.

It certainly isn't what it use to be, I went way to young (for conservative folk anyway) what is seen can never be unseen - no problem though cause I liked what I saw oh yeah!

Bassmonster, fast cars are one thing, being able to afford to drive them from a to b is another. When I first got my licence petrol wouldn't exceed 70 cents per litre. I just filled up my Triton @ $1.65 per litre W.T.F. For sure you guys get fuel somewhat cheaper so you win over Oz. in that regard.
In relation to the 'Stories' you mentioned - you've got a pretty Rad system. No doubt you've the capabilities of kicking off a party or two worthy of a story of their own.

Yesterday I picked up a new project. I got a rusty Ford 289 engine from a 1966 Mustang from an estate sale for $100, so I'll be building that up with new internals, bored .030 over, roller rockers, the works. I bet I can shoehorn it into the Forester with a dry sump and no subframe modifications.

It should fit in the back compartment with no trouble.

Under the hood might be a little tougher with making motor mounts line up, transmission bolt pattern, etc.

Most colleges nowadays have a machine shop that students are free to use if they get trained to use the equipment. Once I get there I might be able to fab up some mounts and a bell housing adapter. Wouldn't it be funny to have a built Ford V8 and keep the AWD Subaru trans with 300 ft/lbs at 2200 RPM.

Good luck. Seems like it'd be easy to get the same power with your supercharger on the stock EJ25. That's a lot of work and money to lose your AWD and get bad gas mileage.

At least it would sound good.

Hello.
A v8 would ruin the handling of your scooby. It was designed with the low mounted boxer engine in mind. A big and heavy V8 is completly different.
Plus a like my high revving boxer engine more than my dad's V8 a lot more when i come to attacking corners and having fun. The V8 feels lazy compared to my engine
