Yeah, I think I'm stuck in the "What? The world is round? You've got to be crazy" type of mindset. It's hard to shake, tho I do realize that more speakers will even out sound - I just never thought about it with Piezo tweeters.. it would be sweet to shed the extra 200lbs (2 CD horns and the amp for them), so that alone will make me anxious to be a believer.

I'm curious to see how close a T24 and a DR230 can come to my $3k+ HT system in sound reproduction, I guess only time will tell.

I am hearing that 12x1016's are popular from a few people, Leland, can you tell me why you went with that model over others?

Looks, mostly. Although I think they might sound a little better, it might just be eyes over ears. I do have 2 models of 1005's, and the PE's are better than the one's I got from Madisound, or whatever their name is now.

The 1016's array seamlessly together with a little elbow grease. See the Otop 12 in the frappr banner. The 1005's are hard to glue up and look like a one piece unit. I did the 16 array in my DR's with 1005's. The new ones will get the 16 array with 1006's.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

You mean Steel Sound, which begat Madison, which begat MSC, which was, at last glance, Shredzmusic. A company that changes names with the seasons does so to stay one step ahead of process servers and the IRS.

Okay, so Parts Express is the place I should be getting them from (I wonder if they get slightly different stock from the manuf's?).

If I wanted to get 16 good/similar sounding Goldwood 1016's, how many do I need to buy?20? 30?

16. The differences between the individual units averages out when you stack so many together.
