Laminates for cabinet?

#1 Post by thunderw0lf »

Does anyone know of a place that sells the black wood grain laminate like what is used on Polk speakers or something similiar? The only thing I've been able to find is the textured laminate that Parts express carries, not what I'm looking for.

Are you sure it's not black stained veneer?

Probably. If it was actual Ebony veneer it would cost a fortune.

Yes I am sure it's not black stained veneer. The boxes are made out of MDF and the laminate is about as thick an tinfoil. I may just use an inexpensive (inexpensive being relative where veneer is concerned) veneer and stain it with a black stain if I can't find the laminate.

If what you're talking about is what I'm thinking, it's probably not a true laminate as such, as in Laminex/Formica, but more likely a PVC or vinyl sheet for that faux grain look.

edited, re read your first post

How about:
http://www.amazon.com/DC-Fix-346-0034-A ... B00755CBY6
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...
