hmm, logged out instead of posting first try.
Happy enough with my amps that speakers is the gear territory with most room for improvement (aside from my playing, different territory) so figure this forum is place to be.
Valve amps are my area, getting them to couple up well with cabs is the real fun factor. I keep a blog mostly about the insides of them here: http://ampstack.wordpress.com/

Hi Mr Foxen, and welcome.
Wow, that's a lot of amps. If only I had the time, I'd love to play around with valve amps a bit more. I've recapped my VOX AC10 and recently built an Ampmaker PP-18 (cut down Baby Bluesbreaker / WEM Dominator circuit) as a backup. I've just finished an XF210 cab to go with it - not had a chance to check it out properly yet as we are out of our rehearsal room for Christmas.
I'm about 20 miles west of Oxford so not too far from you. There's also a guy in Worcester (Adam) who's built an XF212, but I don't think many more XF cabs have been built in the UK yet. I'll let you know what I think of it when I've had a chance to try it in context. Probably won't be gigging it for a couple of months at least which will give me a chance to break the drivers in.
There's loads of good advice on this forum, although not that much of it applies to the XF cabs.

Hello Mr foxen, and welcome.
Am also impressed with your amp collection. I am very much intrigued by the valve amp scene, but being a mechy, not sure where to start, or if immersion into the subject will be too time consuming, when there's other stuff to do.

Stuff that comes from a basic education, plus after I started I got a job in a hifi factory briefly, which mean lots of soldering practice. Basic common sense and engineering instinct covered most stuff. A lot of people that don't have those kid themselves they do though.
