My first table tuba

#1 Post by Jason Stromberg »

I was looking for something a bit smaller in size than my Tuba HT and wanted to see if the Table Tuba is up to the task.

Here is a few pics.

So who's gonna be the first to ask if the drawers are functional? ha ha

Beautiful work there.... Love it!

Very nice work! The light stain/poly came out very nice. How many coats are on there? Did you sand b/t coats? Just curious as I'm a finishing n00b. If it's not black paint, I'll ruin it. :(

Thank You

That PL Premium adhesive should keep even the most curious minds from opening up the fake drawers.

3 coats of Rust-Oleum satin Varathane oil finish on the cabinet and 5 on the table top.

I sanded the surface before the final coat.

Being a carpenter/woodworker since a young kid i had an easier time with the oak than the black on my THT.

First time using this product, normally i go with a spar varnish but the fumes from it are rotting my brain.

You should take a picture with a better background so it can become a catalog pic. Stunning work.

Does it sound good with the cabinet up that high off the floor or did you seal up the inspection hole?

I could do that if Bill wants to post it.

I can't compete with the drawers. It's a total sleeper.

I could try a better picture indoors but my good camera with a flash is on the fritz right now.

Maybe i can get my son to help lift it out with me again if the background is not up to par.

There is always the option to photo edit.

Outdoors is best, in the shadow of a building, using time exposure on a tripod to eliminate jiggle. The same applies to indoors, flash off, as flash introduces glare.
