Spray. Faster, better, takes a little practice.

Well today I sprayed the DR's internals with Benjamin Moore Aura since these are permanent install and out of reach and it came out really good I think.. One primer coat and 2 coats of paint then I set my HVLP to spatter the last coat.

I also primed the mouths of the Tubas.. I was easier than I thought to spray deep down there..

Nope I got 4 T60's!! I'm gonna start assembling the other four as soon as the paint and melded arrays are finished.sine143 wrote:so we have 6 dr280 and 3 t60s so far?

Re: The journey begins.. 16 T60's and 12 DR280's!!
So today I banged out two of the three things I been neglecting to get done lol.. Throat fillers and X-overs!! (the melded tweets are the third thing).
the band saw made quick work of these once I made a jig for it.

Ran them trough the thickness planer, I bought a 4'x8' sheet of this and it was 1 7/8 thick and plans call for 1.5"

If anybody wants to know this jig is angled at 40 degrees.

makes perfect fillers!

then I sliced them on the slider on TS..

I can almost hear them.. I'd say I'm on the 5 yard line

Started loading the drivers but hit the brakes since It will be easier to install the dampening material without drivers installed

Wow, that's great! How did you figure out the table needed to be titled at 40 degrees? And WHERE did you find MDF that is 1-7/8" thick? I've never even been able to find 1" MDF. Hey, at least you caught yourself before you installed all 6 drivers! LOL!

Looks amazing! Well done so far

You should however arrange your inductors with one standing up to minimize crosstalk.. If you want the low down, check this out: Crosstalk

I just used my digital adjustable angle finder and wasted one filler to get it just right.. this will give you the 9" diameter that tapers up to 5" that the plan calls for.. I bought the insulation at HD it comes in 4'x8' sheet with foil on both sides, it just peals right off pretty easily..miked wrote:Wow, that's great! Thank you and thank you Micheal! I did not know that, it will be easy enough to change it thats for sure.. So from what I understand I should stand up one of the coils?Michael Ewald Hansen wrote:Looks amazing! Well done so far![]()

You're welcome. This is why Bill recommends putting the crossovers on two separate boards, so you dont have to worry about this..hifibob wrote: Thank you and thank you Micheal!
